Andy Settle
Dong Family Tai Chi Instructor
Mr. Settle is a certified Tai Chi instructor with 30 years experience practicing Tai Chi.
Having travelled with the military for a number of years, he has been exposed to Tai Chi in many areas of the world.
One such exposure was to the Dong Family Tai Chi Organization based in Honolulu, Hawaii where he met and developed relationships with Grand Master Dong Zeng Chen and his son, Master Alex Dong.
Since settling in Rochester, New Hampshire in the early 2000s he has aligned his teaching with the Yang Style methods and philosophies of the Dong Family and maintains a teaching focus with the primary goal to aid in enhancing overall health while fostering a social community
gathering. He is convinced that tai chi is beneficial for improving, sustaining, or recovering one’s health.
Steven Warren
Dong Family Tai Chi Instructor
Steve is a certified tai chi instructor with over 20 years experience practicing Tai Chi.
His initial exposure to Tai Chi training was through Hirokazu Kanazawa, a master Tai Chi instructor in Japan. At that time Mr. Warren held a teaching position in Kanazawa Sensei’s world-wide karate organization (SKIF) and was instructed (as were all SKIF Instructors) by Kanazawa Sensei who understood the benefits, to begin learning and practicing Tai Chi to maintain continued growth as we aged. Kanazawa Sense taught that our physical bodies would naturally weaken over time, but that there were other ways to maintain strength by using internal sources of energy.
Mr. Warren met Andy Settle when Mr. Settle relocated to Rochester and together they started the NEWMA Tai Chi program. Mr. Warren adopted the Dong Family Tai Chi method of Yang Style Tai Chi and continues with Mr. Settle to develop and promote Tai Chi for the region.
